Hi Folks, I have been very busy learning, practicing and growing in my mindful practice. I am writing this on a long flight back to NJ from the Palo Alto VA where I was attending a course that included mindfulness as well as loving kindness exercise. I have been on a mindful quest to observe, learn and practice every moment. I have been very fortunate to have been able to accomplish the following during my journey.
On 12/1-12/2/17 I attended the Jon kabat Zinn/Rhonda Magee seminar; Mindfulness in the face of Social and Economic Injustice hosted by The New York Insight Center. There were over 100 attendees and the meditations were fantastic. Both have a lot of presentations on You Tube and are very beneficial.
On 1/19-1/20/18 I attended the Sharon Salzberg seminar; Finding Balance in Challenging times again hosted by The New York Insight Center. I learned a great deal from all three and it was an honour to meet them. All three were very pleased to hear how the VA is using mindfulness.
On 1/22/18 I sat in on The Sounds True World Wide Mindfulness Summit along with an estimated 150,000 others. The Summit was wonderful and I learned a great deal.
On 2/28/18 I completed Sharon Salzberg's one month meditation challenge. It was a wonderful series of meditations with many other items of interest daily. This was attended by 23,296 of us.
One day I hope to visit the Wilmington's mindful group and share experiences.
To your well being always

Hey 'Sarge' -- thanks so much for posting this here. I love that you are sharing with us your journey in mindfulness study and practice. I love it when folks can do this here on our site and invite others to feel free to post such things here, as it is helpful for us vets to hear ways that other vets have used things to deal with their pain and suffering, no matter what form it takes. Perhaps one of these days you could make the trip down the New Jersey Turnpike to join us for one of our mindfulness one-day retreats or our weekly group. We have a weekly gathering for graduates of MBSR here, 10:30am to 12:30 most Mondays, with a variety of group meditations and discussion. We would love to have you join us sometime. I'll write you more about this in email. Thanks again.
