Just finished this, a good read. Thought I'd mention it here.
10% Happier: How I tamed the voice in my head, reduced stress without losing my edge, and found self-help that actually works -- a true story by Dan Harris, (Daniel Benjamin Harris) (ABC News guy) 2014 Great book, he was also on the Mindfulness Summit, day 2, and I took notes on that if anyone wants more details (his interview on the summit was mostly a condensation of his book) Very readable, witty and humorous, written in a casual style from an atheist/agnostic/cynic. He tells his own personal evolution with the whole mindfulness thing and at the same time tells of his life as a TV journalist, talking head. His summaries of the mindfulness/Buddhist ,literature and tradition are, I think, quite good. Recommended maybe for that friend or relative who thinks your meditation is 'hogwash', you might want to give them this one. :} Dana L.
