A few years ago the VA launched a site for veterans to share their stories,www.maketheconnection.net (Make The Connection). It is a web-based way for veterans to connect and learn of how other veterans have dealt with post-military life and/or combat, PTSD etc. As I am on their mail list, I get notices. This one got my attention. It is about Gus, a U.S. Army Veteran, and how he uses mindfulness in his transition to civilian life. It's a short piece. Their caption explains:
Gus had trouble sleeping and managing his emotions until his therapist at VA introduced him to meditation. Through mindfulness exercises, he learned to manage his emotions rather than letting them control him. . To read it click-push HERE.
