We were informed by Melissa Foster of the Behavioral Health Department at the Wilmington VA that we have the use of room 7070 for peer-support meetings indefinitely into the future. If you -- or anyone you know -- is a graduate of any of Dr Jenna Tedesco's mindfulness programs (MBSR 8 week, Yummee, Diabetic, HIV, MST) any time since 2009 (when she started the mindfulness program at Wilmington VA) you are invited to stop in anytime to room 7070 for the following time periods - All Mondays when the VA is open.
- 8:30 to 9:30: Tai Chi/Mindful Movement group practice.
- 10:30 to 12:30: MBSR Graduate Group Meditation, Practice, and Peer Support.
Members of Dr. Tedesco's 'Vanguards of Mindful Stewartship' mindfulness (MBSR) teacher training cohort will share in the facilitation and be leading group meditations, mindfulness exercises, discussions, and learning. We also will have occasional guest leaders/teachers by Mindfulness teacher experts from the Delaware Mindfulness community. We will announce here when guest teachers will be coming to Monday groups.
This week we had about 15 MBSR graduates show. We have a tight supportive community run in the spirit of "metta"-- safe, loving-kindness. If you want to re-start orsupport your mindfulness practice, or simply to enjoy the fellowship of other veterans who have found MBSR/mindful meditation to be of value in dealing with their military service-related medical challenges, please join us. And, be forewarned -- we tend to be huggers. :} If you have any questions or comments about Monday's Groups please submit them via the 'contact' button on this website.
