When Jon Kabat Zinn was first developing MBSR and starting the mindfulness 'movement' he was said to have been inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh(Thay), who turned 90 this year. Two years ago Thay had a severe stroke. His recovery from it has been remarkable. His monastery in France, Plum Village, recently posted a picture of him joining the other monks and nuns and also of him seated in the dining room laughing with the other monks. While he will never probably give his mindfulness talks again, just before his stroke he was able to put together a biography of sorts, published as At Home in the World: Stories and Essential Teachings from a Monk's Life, which was published November 1, 2016. Please see the comments about the book on its rear jacket below. ( To learn more about the book and order on Amazon.com click HERE):

This is from page 87 of Thich Nhat Hanh's new book. This is his latest expression of his definition of mindfulness, written just before his stroke in 2014. Continue to marvel at the simple yet profound way that he speaks.
