We recently had some Yoga in the hour before our MBSR grad groups (Mon & Thur at Wilmington (DE) VA. It was part of a Movement therapy group done in place of Tai Chi while our Tai Chi instuctor was away. The consensus was that this fits hand in glove with our mindful meditation, as well it should. I remember hearing somewhere that Back in ancient times originally Yoga was sort of a warm-up for meditation by Indian Hindu ascetics(Anyone who knows the scholarly details of this please let me know or post here as I'm just going from an unclear memory of this). One time during our group Yoga practice someone jokingly said, 'Hey, this is sort of a 'body meditation'. So this connection between Yoga and mindfulness came up for me when I saw a New York Post article today about an 85 year old woman's experience with Yoga, quite remarkable: Check it out HERE.Your thoughts from any of our vets who pracice Yoga on their own?
